MMLV Reverse Transcriptase is derived from the Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus, a retrovirus that infects mice. This enzyme is a DNA polymerase that exhibits reverse transcriptase activity, meaning it catalyzes the synthesis of cDNA from an RNA template. MMLV Reverse Transcriptase enables the analysis of gene expression, the discovery of novel RNA sequences, and the investigation of RNA-based regulatory mechanisms.
